This is My Story of How Train Tracts Began...
In April 2002 I had A Vision from the Lord. He showed me that many Christians know their Bible and are deep into the things of God, but they are not witnessing to the lost. I felt the grieving sorrow of the Lord and His conviction upon my heart. I realized that many unbelievers were needlessly going into an eternity full of pain, suffering and sorrow because no one witnessed to them. God told me that Jesus Christ was coming soon and Christians really needed to start witnessing now. I hear many Christians say: I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say? Other Christians are wrapped up in their own cares or are afraid to witness. So they need to cast their cares upon the Lord and receive His loving compassion. for the lost and His courage to witness to them. Many people are hurting. It is vitally important to listen to those who talk about suicide and then to know what to say in order to minister encouragement to them so they will decide to live. These train tracts are excellent to use with relationship evangelism because they help you explain the Gospel with modern day objects around you that remind the unbeliever of what you said.
While leading a witnessing outreach at the At the Mall I discovered that the hardest part about witnessing is just getting started. The devil tries to block or hinder Christians from transitioning an everyday conversation onto the Gospel topic so that they cannot even get started! He may use fear or confusion causing their minds to go blank so that they cannot transition and start witnessing. So I prayed that God would help me know how to transition conversations into the Gospel and He answered my prayer through giving me the idea of: "object evangelism icebreakers." You simply make a comment about how the object in front of you and the unbeliever reminds you of some aspect of the Gospel...and voila! You are on the Gospel track.
So you can fearlessly witness and it does not even sound like you are witnessing. If you use the right tone of voice, then it is also a loving caring and gentle approach. I often say to use compassionate boldness or witness with the Love of God. That means to not be shy, but to have enough compassion for where the unbeliever will spend eternity to boldly speak up and use an object evangelism icebreaker. Then the conversation is started and the witnessing can begin. These icebreakers are great for witnessing through relationships because it is natural, conversational, indirect and easy to use. If it is thoughtfully spoken in the right tone of voice, it does not even sound like you are witnessing, but you are! Several people received Jesus Christ as their Lord at the Mall. I have several testimonies. It really works because it is so practical and down to earth.
In Matthew 13, Jesus used object evangelism icebreakers in the form of parables. He said: "The kingdom of Heaven is like...a mustard seed (vs. 31); leaven in dough (vs. 33); treasure hidden in a field (vs. 44); a merchant looking for fine pearls (vs. 45); or a net cast into the sea (vs. 47), etc. This is the way that Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God and how He witnessed to the lost. He witnessed to people, not just door to door, but wherever He went. So where do you go? Look on the left sidebar at the Train Tracts and decide which ones you want to buy. There are lots of reasons to use train tracts, but I think that the best reason to use them is because if an unbeliever does not get saved, then the object remains behind to remind them and convict them of what you said about the Gospel regarding that object. I am not saying that my way is the best way or the only way. I just know that train tracts are a very valuable and an important tool for evangelism because if you cannot transition or railroad a conversation onto the Gospel track, then you will not be witnessing at all. After the Icebreaker "..." Then What Do I Say? In these train tracts after each icebreaker, there is a "..." This means to continue on in your conversation however the Holy Spirit leads you. It would be helpful to read over the Truths to Say to 13 False Religions listed on the top right side and also the other objections, which are in the blue train car. Here you will find a lot of help in understanding many of the false religions that are out there today and other objections to the Gospel. You may want to read the article for the unbeliever about God's Love and that as Christians we are to love God unconditionally.
The Second Hardest Part about Witnessing is being bold enough to ask them: Would you like to pray with me to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
Realizing this crucial problem, after every icebreaker after the "..." I made an "an altar call question" to help you know what to say at this crucial moment of decision. It is so important to ask them if they would like to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in some way. Let them know that you will pray a salvation prayer and then they can repeat that prayer after you. One time I asked a guy if he would like to pray to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and he hesitated. I asked why. He said, "Well, I don't know how to pray..." Then I quickly responded, "Oh, that is OK. I will pray a salvation prayer and you can repeat that prayer after me. It will be easy!" Then he did pray with me and got saved! So the altar call question is so important.
Add the Power of God to Your Salvation - Super Size it!
After some receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, (which is also called: born again, saved from hell, or converted), then it is important to share with the new believer about how to pray to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. If they have never heard of it or do not understand, then you give them ten reasons why Christians should want the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and for further explanation this is what the Bible says About Speaking in Tongues.
For those of you Christians that want to do what the Bible says in 1 Cor. 14:1 and desire spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy, then I encourage you to go ahead and try witnessing using prophetic evangelism.
