The 1st Train Tract was for Golf - The PGA Tournament Testimony and how www.TrainTracts.com was finally birthed.
It was in August 2007 when the PGA Golf tournament came to Tulsa that the Lord prompted me to cut and paste and re-format my ideas from "I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say?" Around Golf into a little yellow tract. God gave me favor with the President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes who gave me permission to hand out 120 golf tracts at a Golf banquet that featured three Christian golfers as the keynote speakers. I simply obeyed the Lord. I was too late in registering to have a table. So I just got there early and went around to almost every person and in an excited tone of voice asked them: "Would you like some ideas of how to witness on the golf course?" Everyone wanted one! I was so excited to hand them out to encourage these Christian golfers to witness on the golf course. God even gave me the courage to go up to the head table and give away my little train tracts to the three keynote speakers that shared their testimony of how they became born again and how golf intertwines in their relationship with God: Aaron Baddefley, Zach Johnson and Stewart Cink
Then two weeks later, while under the anointing of some thick praise and worship (by Chad Murray on the piano) the Lord told me to turn ALL of my ideas into tract form. To tell you the truth, I was not excited. I knew it would take a long time, but I wanted to obey Him and serve Him because I knew that many souls were at stake or at the end of my obedience. It took about three hours per tract to get the spacing right - and about five months to convert everything into tract form. So until the end of January '08 I spent so many hours on the computer - about 20 hours a week. I was worried because I did not know what to do with these train tracts once I had created them. When I was done re-formatting or creating the 40th train tract was when the Lord finally told me what to do with them all. He told me to create a website. I said, "What?! God, I do not know how to do that!" I was excited about the fact that Christians would be able to access these train tracts all over the world and putting them on a website would indeed cause these train tracts to go "high and far and wide" which is what I had been praying for, but I am not a computer geek. My brother David Mulford is the one that has the computer savvy in the family along with his Master's degree in Media and Communications, but he lives in Virginia. So of course, he could not come over to look at my computer screen to help me. His wife Martha has her own website. So I was not excited about creating a website either. I did not have the money to pay anyone to build it for me, but God provided the software through Frontpage 2000 and the scanner through my friend Jayne. So I had the necessary equipment or tools. I just had to patiently read and learn through trial and error. It was a mountainous task. There were many times when I ran into a problem or obstacle that made me so frustrated causing me to complain a lot, but thanks to Pastor Kenneth Hagin's preaching I did not quit! I stood on Phil 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I also stood on Matt. 11:28-30 for balance "that His yoke is easy and His burden is light" because praying on the phone 40 hours a week for Oral Roberts Ministries and then going home and creating this website was indeed a lot of work for me. Some days I was so worn out! Jesus paid the price for me and so I am willing to pay the price for Him. I learned to be patient and steadfast and to endure. God told me that His grace was sufficient for me and again I knew that many souls were at the other end of my obedience. I did receive some help from Allen Johnson, a web programmer that goes to Tulsa Harvest Church and some help from Hostek.com and help from www.talkfrontpage.com. So that was a blessing of God's grace to me. In the end, I give God all the glory for this website, because I know that it was His grace and His manifest presence upon me that enabled me to go up and over and conquer the mountain of creating this website for His glory. I testify that like in Habakkuk 3: 19 AMP "The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds' feet and will make me walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!
It was God's abundant grace that enable to create this website for His glory. I am believing God that train tracts will start a Revival of witnessing and that many people will be won into the Kingdom of God.
